The following post-conference edited volumes are in the formulation stages.

1. Ecocity Planning publication, international scope, in English.
Presenters at the 9th Ecocity World Summit are invited to submit papers for consideration in an edited book on ecocities. The theme of the book is "moving towards ecocities" with a focus on ideas and actions that can make a difference in the ecocity movement. We anticipate a broad range of theoretical and policy papers as well as case studies relevant to a wide variety of geographical locations and development contexts. The volume is being edited by Jayne Engle-Warnick, Ecocity World Summit Co-Convenor; David F. Brown, Ecocity Summit Program Co-Chair; and Ray Tomalty, Ecocity Summit Program Committee Member. All are associated with the McGill University School of Urban Planning, and Jayne and Ray are board members of the Montreal Urban Ecology Centre. While a publisher has yet to be selected for the volume, preliminary inquiries indicated substantial interest in this project. Papers of up to 8,000 words are welcome. Each submission must be accompanied by an abstract of about 300 words that states how the paper can contribute to advancing the ecocity movement. Please submit papers in Word format by October 15, 2011 to the attention of Jayne Engle-Warnick at publications@ecocity2011.com.
